Needing to Catch some Z's

With Kaden's cough, it has been a pretty bad last couple of nights. Monday night, neither Jimmie or I was able to get much sleep, because Kaden would wake up crying and we didn't know why. We tried just giving him his pacifier, but that didn't seem to work, and since we were so annoyed with constant crying, it seemed that there was nothing else to do. At around 2am Jimmie graciously volunteered to take Kaden downstairs to see if the swing would help, since I had been getting up farely frequently to calm him down. This gave me chance to sleep a little because usually Jimmie is able to sleep through most of the crying. But he knew that I was getting frustrated and deprived of sleep. However, what he tried to do didn't work either. So around 4am Kaden finally went back to sleep in his room, and we were able to get only a few more hours in. Luckily last night wasn't as bad. I was only waken up by the sound of his horrendous cough that sounded like he was choking. I just hope tonight will be better, and that this cold will be over soon, because I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. (And to you mothers who have been throught it all, I know what your thinking. That this isn't nothing, and wait till the real stuff comes when he's older) :)

Baby Sickness

Today I had to take Kaden to the doctor because he has been coughing pretty badly for the past few days now. Well, come to find out it is an Upper Respitory Infection (common cold) that is usually common for babies at his age. So now I have to just keep an eye on it and give him some cough medicine every two hours. I hope that it goes away soon, because almost every time he does cough, it sounds like he's choking and gasping for air, and of course that scares me to death. Anyway, now I nee to figure out what to do for Jimmie birthday which is on Wednesday.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today was a nice fall day in Michigan, unlike last year or the year before with snow and 11 degrees. No today was a nice 55 degrees and sunny. A perfect fall day. At noon we went to Grandma Fitz's house for the meal. Jimmie had two full plates of everything on the table: turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, green beans, fruit salad, seven layer salad, candied yams, rolls, cranberry sauce, gravy. And of course afterward was nap time while the women cleaned up, the men talking about work and sports, and the children playing outside. All in all it was a wonderful day to spend with family.

I heard a greeting from a card for thanksgiving that I would like to share with all of you, because we miss everyone so much.
"It is hard to count all of your blessings when they are not present." I guess it is just my way of saying I wish could have been able to see a lot of people that we care about and miss.

Moving, Immunizations and Other Pains

On November 2, Jimmie, Kaden, and I were able to move into our new Michigan home. A duplex home, one story three bedroom, one bath with a basement, all appliances, and a garage. We were unable to bring furniture for the new home except for Kaden room. But with a little help from Jimmie's father, whom he is working for, we were able to start setting up a home for ourselves.

Earlier this past week, Kaden and I went to the doctor for his 3 month check up. While we were there, he also received his first shots. The poor little thing was so upset and hurt afterward that he slept for a good portion of the rest of the day. We also think that he might be starting to teeth a bit, since last night he woke up crying in pain. Plus, he's beginning to drool excessively and gumming just about anything that's put to his month. Kaden is also rolling over from his back to stomach, but then gets stuck on there because he hasn't quite figured out how to roll over to his back again. He has been doing very well at holding his head up, too.
